Praying for the Nations

Yesterday I attended the WHM women's monthly prayer meeting. It was a blessing to take the prayer requests of the families living all over the world and place them at the feet of Jesus.

Done deal

Dan and I signed all the papers this afternoon for 315 N. Easton Road. Anna Rullo wanted us to buy her house to use to help Leah and Jonah and students in the area. What a gift from the Lord. We are very thankful. And we had a wonderful time with our neighbors in 317 toasting the house purchase. Thanks to Dan's mom for we know it would have been her desire as well.

A First

Leah, Jonah and I went out for dinner last nite. This is not a first but it is few and far between. Anyway we had this really nice, helpful waiter. I ordered a beer that he poured into a frosted glass. He was so proud of himself for it not having too much foam. Then he said to me "I'll be right back with a straw." Leah and I looked at each other. He returns with a straw that he puts into my beer! Naturally with the foam the straw just kind of lays across the top of my glass. Go figure. When we were leaving I asked him if it was his first nite. He said "oh no, it's not my first nite, it's my second nite after being away for 2 months."

Our "new" house

This Monday we settle on 315 N. Easton Road.
It is mirror image to our house except for an enclosed front porch.
We are excited!
When our neighbor, Anna Rullo, became ill with reoccuring cancer she asked us if we wanted to buy her house. We thot this would make a great investment to rent to Westminster students. To make a long story short now Leah and Jonah can live there with two other adults, maybe students, maybe not.

It definitely has a 1950s look which can be kept a bit. It mainly needs cosmetic work. Josh is the "hired man" to pull up carpet and scrape wallpaper.

To be continued...

Shocker

I had not thot much about Wichita State Univ. Wheat Shockers until they made into the NCAA tourney. (they lost last nite to George Mason another underdog) Suddenly I had all this pride for attending my freshman year there until I read from their website, "Wichita State:
Thinkers, Doers, Movers and Shockers."

A little too hokey for me.

"If You Could Read My Mind..."

"what a tale my thoughts would tell." Cow. Have you ever wondered what goes thru the mind of a cow? Probably not. But I do. I have this curiosity to know what an animal must be thinking when it crosses paths with a human or goes about its daily routine.

Two Puppies

Teddie the dog and Jonah my 17month old grandson and I walked to the animal hospital today. The dog has been sick the last couple of days doing a great job of peeing in the house. I had made an appt. to take the dog when I didnt have Jonah but the dog was on my nerves. We walked the 3 or so blocks to the hospital. It was cold so Jonah was in his winter coat and plastered into the umbrella stroller. The blanket across his lap made him look like a little old man.

Upon our arrival Teddie started running around the waiting room. Jonah is loving this because he likes to chase Teddie when she has on her leash. Jonah decides to push the stroller around. I locked the brakes which then makes Jonah screech out of frustration. The nurse calls us in but I cant get Jonah, the stroller and the dog together thru the door so I hand her the dog. Jonah is still screeching at the stroller so I pry his fingers off it, leave it and carry him into the exam room.

The dog is hiding under the chairs, Jonah is pulling on her leash as the nurse is trying to find out from me why I am there. She takes the dogs temp which Jonah watches intently and I can see his wheels grinding....Teddie has a fever. The nurse leaves, Jonah and Teddie want to follow so they are clammering to open the exam room door to escape In walks the doctor. Jonah wants to be picked up then let down, he wants Teddies leash, then wants out the door. The doctor is very nice and tells me there is nothing wrong with the dog. She is very healthy, just a fever, gives me antibiotics. We are free to go which was great except that we crossed paths with other dogs. Jonah loves dogs. They are all "teddie." While I wait to check out I let Jonah push the stroller with unlocked wheels. Jonah proceeds to open the door with the stroller and Teddie gets out. With everyone back in, the cost is $77! Jonah lets Teddie out again, so one lady throws me my receipt and another one grabs my coats and hats and helps me get Jonah and Teddie together for our walk home.

KU loses

Great news. KU lost last nite in the NCAA tourney. Being a Kansas State alum, Kansas Univ. losing is always good news.
